Job Summary:
Advanced International Hospital, Islamabad is hiring a Medical Officer to deliver excellent patient care, support clinical operations, and strengthen our multidisciplinary team. The Medical Officer will assess and treat patients, manage emergencies, document care accurately, and help drive clinical quality improvements.
Key responsibilities
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Order and interpret investigations (labs, imaging), and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications, monitor therapeutic response, and review medication safety.
• Stabilize acute and emergency cases and coordinate specialist referrals when required.
• Maintain timely, accurate medical records, discharge summaries, and handover notes.
• Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical audits.
• Mentor junior doctors, interns, and medical trainees; support on-the-job learning.
• Support infection control, quality improvement, and protocol compliance.
• Communicate clinical findings, prognosis, and follow-up plans clearly with patients and families.
Qualifications & licensure
• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
• Valid medical license to practice in Pakistan (e.g., Pakistan Medical Commission).
• Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience in a hospital environment; experience in internal medicine or emergency care is an advantage.
• Current BLS certificate; ACLS preferred or must be obtained within a specified probation period.
Required skills & attributes
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and procedural skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and medical documentation.
• Clear verbal and written communication; patient-centered approach.
• Calm decision-making under pressure and the ability to prioritize workload.
• Collaborative team player with professional ethics and commitment to patient safety.
• Willingness to participate in continuing medical education and hospital initiatives.
Desirable (plus) qualifications
• Postgraduate diploma or specialty training in Internal or Emergency Medicine.
• Experience in clinical audits, protocol development, or hospital-based research.
• Familiarity with public health programs and preventive medicine.
