We are currently looking for a highly experienced and results-driven SEO Specialist (E-commerce) who can take ownership of our SEO initiatives and play a key role in scaling organic growth for our UK-based clients.

About the Role

As an SEO Specialist at Wispa Digital, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive SEO strategies specifically tailored for e-commerce websites. This role is ideal for someone who has deep, hands-on experience in optimizing online stores and understands the complexities of ranking in competitive markets like the UK.

You will not only focus on improving rankings but also on driving meaningful business outcomes such as increased organic traffic, improved conversion rates, and higher revenue. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and creative problem-solving.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including content writers, designers, developers, and marketing specialists to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. SEO Strategy Development & Execution

You will take full ownership of SEO strategy for multiple e-commerce websites. This includes planning, executing, and continuously optimizing strategies that align with business goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

Developing long-term SEO roadmaps focused on growth and scalability
Identifying opportunities to increase organic visibility and revenue
Aligning SEO efforts with overall marketing and business objectives
Continuously refining strategies based on performance data and market trends

2. Keyword Research & Market Analysis

A strong understanding of search intent and keyword behavior in the UK market is essential.

You will:

Conduct comprehensive keyword research targeting high-value commercial terms
Perform competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities
Map keywords to appropriate pages based on search intent
Focus on transactional and revenue-driving keywords

Your insights will directly influence content strategy, page optimization, and overall SEO direction.

3. On-Page SEO Optimization

You will be responsible for optimizing all key pages across e-commerce websites, including:

Product pages
Category and collection pages
Landing pages
Blog content

This includes:

Optimizing meta titles, descriptions, headings, and content
Improving internal linking structures
Enhancing user experience and conversion rates
Ensuring content aligns with search intent and SEO best practices

4. Technical SEO Leadership

Technical SEO will be a core part of your role. You will lead initiatives that ensure websites are fully optimized for search engines.

Key areas include:

Site architecture and URL structure
Crawlability and indexation
Page speed optimization
Core Web Vitals improvement
Mobile responsiveness
Schema markup implementation
Canonicalization and duplicate content management

You will work closely with developers to identify and resolve technical issues that may impact performance.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Data-driven decision-making is critical for success in this role.

You will:

Monitor website performance using tools like GA4 and Google Search Console
Track key metrics such as rankings, traffic, engagement, and conversions
Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities
Prepare detailed performance reports for stakeholders
Translate complex data into actionable insights

6. Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

SEO is not just about traffic—it’s about conversions.

You will:

Optimize pages to improve user engagement and conversion rates
Analyze user behavior and identify friction points
Implement strategies to increase sales and revenue from organic traffic
Collaborate with UX/UI teams to enhance user journeys

7. Content Strategy & Optimization

Content plays a vital role in SEO success.

You will:

Plan and execute SEO-driven content strategies
Conduct content gap analysis
Optimize existing content for better performance
Guide content teams on keyword targeting and structure
Develop blog strategies that support organic growth

8. Off-Page SEO & Link Building

You will oversee off-page SEO efforts, including:

Backlink analysis and auditing
Developing link-building strategies
Supporting digital PR initiatives
Building high-quality, authoritative backlinks

9. Cross-Team Collaboration

You will work closely with:

Content writers
Designers
Developers
Marketing teams

Your role will involve ensuring SEO best practices are integrated into all projects, campaigns, and website updates.

10. Continuous Learning & Adaptation

SEO is constantly evolving, and staying updated is essential.

You will:

Keep track of search engine algorithm updates
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices
Proactively adjust strategies to maintain competitive advantage

Required Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, candidates must have:

5–7+ years of proven experience in e-commerce SEO
Strong expertise in GA4 and Google Search Console
Hands-on experience with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, or BigCommerce
Proficiency in SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Screaming Frog
Deep understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO
Knowledge of structured data and site performance optimization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Experience working in agency or high-growth environments

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Skills)

Candidates with the following experience will have an added advantage:

International SEO or multi-region website experience
SEO forecasting and revenue modeling
ROI tracking and performance attribution
